‘True Blood’s’ Alexander Skarsgard On Rihanna: ‘She’s Really Solid’

“True Blood” may be over for the season, but sexy Swede Alexander Skarsgard still has plenty to keep him busy — including his upcoming film “Battleship,” which paired him with Rihanna.

“This is her first movie but she’s great, she’s really, really good in it,” the actor recently told Britain’s GQ magazine. “And her working… She’s got a crazy schedule. She’s really diligent and I’m impressed.”

Alexander explained that the pop singer managed to hold down both acting and an intense musical performance schedule, something that left him in awe.

“We would work and then she’d fly to LA to perform at the MTV Music Awards and then fly back red eye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing,” he said. “She’s really solid.”

As for Alexander himself, the 6’4” star has a host of films due out next year – from the thriller “Saw Dogs” – where he bonded with Kate Bosworth (who’s now his girlfriend) – to the aforementioned “Battleship” (based on the board game), but he revealed that his stature sometimes gets in the way on sets.

“My height can be a problem,” he said. “A lot of directors and photographers are sometimes not happy because I’m pretty tall and especially if I work with short actors the difference can be pretty massive.”

In order to overcome the difference, the lanky blonde revealed they use an old Hollywood trick.

“That’s definitely happened before. We use apple boxes for the other actors so they get up a bit,” he said.
