Trump National Golf Fires Back At Samuel L. Jackson: Bill Was ‘Error’

Looks like Donald
Trump and Samuel L. Jackson are still in the rough.

A rep for Trump
National Golf Club has addressed the “Hateful Eight” star’s claim
that he mistakenly received a bill from the venue, telling Access Hollywood on
Wednesday that the charge in question was “made in error.”

“Mr. Jackson
was a guest of Mr. Trump’s in 2010 when Mr. Trump graciously told him to use
the club whenever he would like, essentially making him an honorary non dues
paying member,” General Manager Dave Schutzenhofer explained, adding
that a membership account had been set up for the actor to “post charges
when visiting.”

“The $15
pool guest fee from this past year is the only charge that has ever been posted
to this account and thus the only bill Mr. Jackson has ever received. The
charge was made in error by a staff member and was intended for another
member’s account. In July we were notified by his office of the error and the
charge was removed immediately,” Schutzenhofer continued.

The conflict
started earlier this week, when Jackson suggested in an interview with United
Airlines’ in-flight magazine that the presidential hopeful cheats at golf.
Trump responded with a Tweet on Tuesday in which he claimed not to know the
Oscar nominee, and added that he finds him “boring.”

Jackson set the record straight at the National Board of Review
gala in New York City on Tuesday night, hinting that the real estate mogul may
want to reassess his priorities.

“Out of all
the things that need to be dealt with presidentially, he’s worried about me
saying that he cheats at golf?” the star told Access, showing a copy of
the Trump National Golf Club bill as proof the two do indeed know one another.

Schutzenhofer swung
back in his statement to Access, saying it’s Jackson who’s blowing things out
of proportion.

“As a fan of Mr. Jackson I find it extremely disappointing
that he chooses to turn what was intended as a kind and generous gesture of an
honorary club membership into an unprovoked attack on Mr. Trump,” he
added.

On Wednesday, Trump
himself did finally admit to having played golf with Jackson – though he still
took issue with the actor.
