‘Twilight’ Star Kellan Lutz To Join ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Remake?

Kellan Lutz has already sunk his teeth into the “Twilight” franchise. Now, he may be about to take on a legendary big screen “Nightmare.”

Lutz is in talks to join the remake of the 1984 horror classic, “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” a rep for Warner Bros. studio, who is producing the film, confirmed to Access Hollywood.

Lutz, who played human-friendly vegetarian vampire Emmett Cullen in “Twilight” and will reprise his role in “New Moon,” would play a popular high school jock in “Elm Street.”

Already confirmed to join the cast of the re-imagined fright flick are “Terminator: The Sarah Chronicles” star Thomas Dekker and actress Rooney Mara.

Kyle Gallner (“The Haunting in Connecticut”) will play the role Johnny Depp played in the original film.

And as previously reported, Jackie Earle Haley will step into the iconic role of bedtime bad guy Freddie Krueger.

Production is slated to begin in May 2009.
