Tyra Banks Shares Halle Berry’s Paparazzi-Proof Airplane Tips

As a supermodel and television mogul, Tyra Banks is a recognizable figure, but there’s one place she’d prefer to remain anonymous – when she’s seated near a pesky person on an airplane.

On Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, the “America’s Next Top Model” judge and producer revealed it was an Oscar winning friend who gave her the secret to protecting her privacy in the very public place.

“I put my airplane blanket over my head,” Tyra told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover of how she stops people from bothering her on a flight. “I do that to this day. I take it and put it over my head and guess who I learned that from? Halle Berry!”

Tyra revealed that Halle pointed out how a passenger can turn into a citizen paparazzo and that a blanket is something a celeb can use to protect their image from a sneaky snap.

“She told me, ‘You don’t wanna get caught up there with drool coming down your face and have somebody trying to take your picture or bothering you or whatever,’” Tyra recounted. “So, I get on the plane and I throw it over my head.”

The supermodel and media mogul added that the blanket move has caused an air hostess or two to raise an eyebrow.

“I’ve had the flight attendants kind of shake me like, ‘You OK, Ms. Banks? You still breathing?’”

In related news, Tyra makes her directorial debut with the “ANTM” models on Wednesday night’s episode, which also features a double elimination.

“America’s Next Top Model” airs on Wednesday night at 8 PM on The CW.
