U2 Announces March Release For ‘No Line On The Horizon’

U2’s next album may be called “No Line On The Horizon,” but now, there’s an end in sight for the long-awaited follow-up to 2004’s multi-platinum “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb” — “No Line” will be released on March 2, 2009, the band announced on Thursday.

It’s the twelfth studio album for the veteran rock act, and it required trips to four studios – in Fez, Morocco; in the band’s own studio in Dublin, Ireland; in New York’s Platinum Sound Recording Studios; and at Olympic Studios in London, where the set was finalized.

In addition, three of the band’s longtime producers helped shepherd the album – Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Steve Lillywhite, who have collectively worked on such U2 albums as “The Joshua Tree,” “Achtung Baby” and “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.”

“Bomb” has sold over 9 million copies and landed the band 8 Grammy awards.
