UPDATED: Britney Almost Upstaged By Rising Singer Samantha Jade?

Britney Spears may have some competition at her record label, and her name is Samantha Jade.

Last week, reported the pop star was 12 hours late to the video shoot for her latest single, “Pieces of Me,” it appears Britney’s tardiness almost cost her the entire video, according to a report by Page Six.

“Jive hired Wayne Isham to direct, had all the dancers there — hair, makeup and everything,” a source told Page Six. “But she refused to come. Jive was really upset. They were already paying everyone overtime, and finally Britney showed up 12 hours late — but only after they told her they were going to give the video shoot to another Jive artist, Samantha Jade.”

The young singer was reportedly told to be on call to shoot her video for her single, “Eyes on Me,” on Britney’s unused set.

“They were going to recalibrate it for Samantha, because it was too expensive to just scrap,” a source revealed to Page Six. “Britney finally showed up when she realized a new, younger, hotter girl would take her slot.”

“Buzz from Britney’s camp is that this is a misguided attempt bySamantha Jade’s representatives to generate publicity for their artistat the expense of Britney,” a source told Access Hollywood.
