UPDATED: Sandra Bullock & Jesse James’ Reps Shoot Down Divorce Lawyer Reports

Reps for Sandra Bullock and Jesse James have not been interviewing divorce lawyers, despite an earlier report on TMZ, reps for the two stars told People on Tuesday.

“Neither she nor her representatives have contacted or shopped around for divorce lawyers,” a rep for “The Blind Side” Best Actress Oscar winner told People in a story published Tuesday night on the mag’s Web site.

A rep for James was not quoted, but People reported that the reality star’s rep also said the report was untrue.

Earlier in the day, TMZ reported that reps for the Academy Award-winning actress had been in contact with multiple possible divorce lawyers.

The Web site reported that Lance Spiegel – the lawyer who handled divorce cases for Heather Locklear, Charlie Sheen and Michael Jackson – had emerged as the frontrunner for the job.

TMZ also reported that reps for Jesse had contacted lawyers asking, “if they’d be interested in taking the case,” if Sandra files for divorce.

In related news, Radar Online reported Tuesday morning that Jesse told Michelle “Bombshell” McGee – the woman who claims she had an affair with Jesse – that he and Sandra were separated and planning to go public after she wrapped her most recent film, Michelle’s best friend Mary Gusman claimed.

“He said they were separated and he was going to leave his wife and go public with the separation after the filming of her movie,” Mary told Radar, claiming that Jesse told Michelle, “She’s in Atlanta, she’s in Texas doing her filming. After that’s coming out, since we’re so high-profile then we will come out with everything, but we don’t want to come out with the separation now.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, just days after Sandra pulled out of the London premiere of “The Blind Side,” on Monday, the Berlin premiere of the emotional movie was canceled.

Last week, Jesse called “the vast majority” of claims that have surfaced “untrue and unfounded,” in a statement the star issued to Access last Thursday.

“I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment,” his statement continued. “There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me.”

Sandra Bullock has not been seen since news of Jesse’s alleged affair broke.
