Usher Talks Michelle Chamuel’s Future Following The Voice

Michelle Chamuel came in second on Tuesday’s “The Voice” finale, but Usher says things are just beginning for his protege.

“[Michelle] has an incredible talent, and the world has been introduced to an amazing person, an amazing artist, and amazing story — and that story has yet to be told,” Usher told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman at the “Voice” finale in Los Angeles on Tuesday. “She’s gonna take a moment to really ponder and savor all of the hard work that went into this, [then] make some great decisions as we move forward.”

The “Scream” singer believes Michelle could be “The Voice’s” breakout star.

“I think it’s the beginning of something very real,” he said. “I’m looking forward to her career. I’m looking forward to everything she’s gonna be.”

Michelle, who lost the title to Danielle Bradbery (but beat out The Swon Brothers) on Tuesday night’s show, said working with Usher has been immeasurably helpful to her confidence and artistry.

“His coaching and guidance has helped me grow an immense amount,” Michelle said.

As for what’s next for the spectacled singer, Michelle is going to relax for a bit and weigh her options for the future.

“[I’ll be] taking that moment to regroup and thinking about that next solid step forward,” she said. “And I’ve got some great people, and [Usher], that I can consult with.”
