Vivica A. Fox Defends Co-Star Jessica Simpson

Actress Vivica A. Fox is outraged over reports of co-star Jessica Simpson’s “diva-like behavior” on the Louisiana set of “Major Movie Star.”

Fox, a “Dancing With the Stars” veteran, spoke to People about rumors that Simpson behaved like a “spoiled brat” on the set.

“Those vicious lies they put out were just that – lies,” Fox said of a report, which stated that Simpson would demand a driver instead of walking from one place to another, eat alone in her trailer, and barely speak to her fellow cast members — especially Fox.

“[Jessica] was so much of a team player,” Fox reportedly told People. “She was gracious and so down to earth.”
Fox even complimented Jessica’s physical prowess in the film, which follows a down-and-out movie star (Simpson) who enlists in the Army.

“She showed a lot of physicality, like 90 percent of all her own stunts, and she sacrificed so much of her body for this movie,” said Vivica, who plays the “tough sergeant” in the film.

And Vivica isn’t exaggerating about Jessica “sacrificing” her body — Simpson bruised her nose while filming two weeks ago, when she accidentally hit herself with a gun!

“During the scene,” Fox recalled, “she looked really intense when I looked in her eyes, and I just thought she was really into it. But when the director [Steve Miner] yelled, ‘Cut,‘ Jessica came over to me and said, ‘Vivica I hit my nose with the gun.‘ ”

“We got ice immediately,” Fox continued. “Most girls would’ve stopped right then and there, but she was ready to do another take. She’s wonderful.”

“Major Movie Star,” also starring Cheri Oteri and Steve Guttenberg, is set to hit theaters in 2008.
