When Maureen McCormick Met Miley & Billy Ray Cyrus

Access Hollywood had a little help when we sat down with singing sensation Miley Cyrus and her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, thanks to Maureen McCormick.

Maureen (better known to most as “Marcia Brady”) was a bundle of nerves as she met Billy Ray and Miley as a first time Access guest correspondent.

“I can’t believe I am here with you guys, you guys are huge,” Maureen gushed.

“Thank you so much. We’re having fun. We are glad we can be with you on your first interview,” Miley said.

“When you walked in, you said you had seen ‘The Brady Bunch!’” Maureen noted.

“Yeah! We were all talking about it. Once you walked away we were like, ‘Oh my god!’” Miley giggled.

Maureen met the Cyrus clan at the private photo shoot for their gig next month as co-hosts of the 2008 CMT Music Awards.

“I was noticing you guys in the picture session and you seem so incredibly warm and close,” Maureen said. “That is so incredibly wonderful to see.”

“We are buddies,” Miley said.

“She is 15 years old… I know it’s got to be hard working with your dad and different things. I always am very aware of giving her the room to just be Miley,” Billy Ray said.

And Maureen can definitely relate to life as Miley.

“You and I have a lot in common because we both grew up on popular TV shows as teenagers. How have you kept your head together?” Maureen asked.

“Just being close with my family,” Miley said. “Just keep my family my main priority.”

“There is one difference I notice between me and you and that is that you are making a lot of money and we, the ‘Brady’ girls, didn’t back when we were growing up,” Maureen noted.

It’s a slightly different story for mega-rich Miley, who reportedly makes $3.5 million a year.

“We hardly made anything during our shows. We made like $500 an episode,” Maureen explained.

“Oh my gosh!” Miley said.

“That is what I make now,” Billy Ray joked.

Before we wrapped our interview, Billy Ray confessed to Maureen that Marcia’s infamous football mishap was his all-time favorite.

“I want to pass the football with you,” he said.

“I wish we had a football. I would love to get a football pass from Billy Ray Cyrus,” Maureen smiled. “We’ll do that maybe on the CMTs!”

“Love it!” Billy Ray said. “Let’s do it. We’ll play football in Nashville.”
