Which Actress Might Spider-Man Spin A Web For?

With a Spider-Man reboot in the works, rumors are spinning around Hollywood about who might play the web-slinger’s love interest in the upcoming Marc Webb-directed movie. One report has a list of five young Hollywood stars reportedly vying to play opposite new Spidey actor Andrew Garfield.

According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog, Peter Parker’s love interest will not be Mary Jane Watson in the reboot – and it’s still unclear if Peter will capture the heart of Gwen Stacy or possibly a different character.

THR reported that six young stars are meeting with the director to play the undecided role, including:

Imogen Poots: a British actress, currently shooting “Fright Night” with Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Colin Farrell.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead: who is currently starring opposite Michael Cera as Ramona Flowers in “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and previously was seen in “Live Free or Die Hard.”

Emma Roberts: Julia Roberts’ niece and Eric Roberts’ daughter, who is currently is shooting “Scream 4,” is also reportedly in the running.

Teresa Palmer: Australian beauty and star of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” and “Bedtime Stories” is reportedly reading for the role too.

Lilly Collins: another British actress, who starred as Sandra Bullock’s daughter in “The Blind Side” and will play opposite Taylor Lautner in the upcoming “Abduction,” is also reportedly in the casting web.

Ophelia Lovibond: yet another British import, who will star opposite Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell in William Monahans “London Boulevard.”

According to THR, the search for Spidey’s new love is still in the early stages and the search could reportedly extend further then this pool of young starlets.

When contacted by THR, the studio had no comment.
