Will Kylie Minogue ‘X’ Madonna Off The Album Chart?

Spring’s album charts could be a battle of the blondes with news that poptastic pint-sized Aussie chanteuse Kylie Minogue has her own new album due just weeks before Madonna’s “Hard Candy” hits store shelves.

Minogue, best known for the sexy single, “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” will release her new album, “X,” on April 1. Madonna’s drops April 29.

“X” found Minogue co-writing with Robbie Williams’ former songwriting guru Guy Chambers, Cathy Dennis (who wrote Britney Spears’ song “Toxic”), dance producer Calvin Harris, and Bloodshy & Avant (who have worked with Madonna).

Minogue’s new album hit international store shelves last year, but those who may have already purchased the import are being given an incentive to pick up the U.S. release – a new track, “All I See,” featuring New York City rapper MIMS.

“This album is much more of a celebration than anything I’ve done before, with some room for reflection as well,” Minogue said. “I started work on it a year and a half ago when recording was far off in the future, because no one wanted to pressure me. But I had to get back into the studio just to test myself and get some things off my chest, which I did. To finish was a great relief and an inspiration in that I knew, ‘This is what I do and this is what I love doing.’ It has its challenges, but I’m ready for more.”
