Will Nick Fury & The Avengers Be Comic-Con No-Shows?

Are Earth’s mightiest heroes descending on San Diego next month for Comic-Con?

According to Samuel L. Jackson, who is playing Nick Fury in the upcoming Marvel superhero ensemble movie, he will not be in attendance.

Access Hollywood caught up Hollywood’s hardest working actor at the 39th AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony, which honored Morgan Freeman on Thursday night in Los Angeles, where Sam said fanboys and girls won’t be seeing him next month.

“No, [I’m not going.] It’s not out until next year,” the actor told Access. “Look, everybody knows about it, everybody knows we’re doing it, everybody knows I’m Nick Fury. What else do I need to say about it other than it’s a big movie?!”

Adding, “You’ll find out what it’s about as soon as we do.”

The 62-year-old actor has already appeared as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury in both “Iron Man” movies, “Thor,” and is also rumored to appear in the upcoming “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

“The Avengers,” with Sam’s co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner, is slated to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.
