Will Smith On Presidential Run Rumors: ‘I Could Handle [Trump] Quite Well’

So much for those Smith In ’16 campaign buttons.

Will Smith, alongside wife Jada Pinkett Smith, hit the
Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday night, where Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush
asked Will about all the talk that he was thinking about a run at the White House.

Actually, why don’t we let Jada answer the question once and
for all.

“I told him that there’s no way he can run for
President because nobody wants me as the First Lady and I don’t want to be the
First Lady,” Jada laughed.

So just how serious was Will about his previous presidential
comments back in December?

“No, I can answer that for you. He’s not serious about
it. At all,” Jada interjected, as Will laughed.

“I said it as jokingly-ish,… I do feel that there is a
– you’re just shaking your head,” Will said, noticing Jada repeatedly
shaking her head, albeit with a smile. “I was joking. I was joking.”

But if he were to run, how does Will think he’d stack up
against Donald Trump in a war of words?

“Could you handle The Donald in a debate?” Billy
asked the “Concussion” star.

“That would be very easy. I could handle that quite
well,” Will smiled.
