Will Smith Talks Slapping Reporter Who Kissed Him: ‘It’s Just Awkward’

Will Smith is speaking out about slapping a reporter last week in Moscow, who tried to kiss the “Men in Black 3” star.

Will appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Tuesday, where the talk show host poked fun at the incident.

“You beat up a guy that was trying to hug you,” Dave asked.

“I didn’t beat up a guy,” Will said with a laugh and then recalled the awkward moment for the audience.

“He says, ‘I’m you’re biggest fan, can I have a hug?’” the star explained. “So I go to give this joker a hug, and he tries to lean in and kiss me!”

Adding, “It’s just awkward!”

And when Will was told that it was the reporter’s “schtick,” he came back with, “I said, ‘Well, that’s why his a** got shtuck.’”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, following the incident the actor told the journalist, “Come on, man. What the hell is your problem, buddy?”

He then quickly brushed off the incident and continued to make his way down the red carpet with a smile, where he then addressed the incident with the next reporter on the red carpet.

“He tried to kiss me on my mouth! He’s lucky I didn’t sucker punch him,” Will was heard saying.
