William Shatner To Host Space Camp Banquet

It’s been decades since William Shatner played Captain Kirk on “Star Trek.”

He’s sooo moved on that he’s already won an Emmy for his current role as Denny Crane on “Boston Legal.”

But, Shatner knows “Star Trek” is his legacy. And Larry Capps, the head of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, says Shatner has agreed to be the emcee for the first-ever Space Camp Hall of Fame induction banquet June 13th.

The Space Camp is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and William Shatner is planning to attend the party.

The inaugural Hall of Fame event will honor 10 people who either attended Space Camp or have been major supporters of the Space Camp and Space Center.

A committee is establishing criteria for selecting the first inductees. The exact date and location of the banquet will be announced later, Capps said.
