Zac Efron & Claire Danes Team With Senator To Aid Schools

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (November 15, 2007) – Actress Claire Danes and U.S. Senator Bill Bradley in New York and Actor Zac Efron in Los Angeles, announce the nationwide expansion of DonorsChoose.org, a revolutionary non-profit organization designed to fulfill classroom needs and foster innovation in public schools. Danes, Efron and Bradley are attracting media attention to DonorsChoose.org, which for the past seven years has proven its model for channeling much-needed resources (like books, art supplies, technology and field trips) to deserving students at public schools in eight states and four major U.S. Cities.

On November 15th, DonorsChoose.org expands its model to all 50 states, matching classroom needs, posted online by teachers, with individuals from all walks of life who believe in supporting American students with the resources they need to succeed. Since 2000, DonorsChoose.org has channeled $14 million worth of books, art supplies, technology, field trips and other resources to students in need. Just as eBay enables buyers and sellers to collectively determine the value of a product, DonorsChoose.org lets the people decide which projects should get funded, said eBay Founder Pierre Omidyar.
