Zac Efron Reveals He’s Been Thinking Of ‘Settling Down’: Where Does He Get His Dating Advice?

Zac Efron could be ready to find The One.

In a new interview for Cosmopolitan’s May issue, the
“Baywatch” star revealed that he’s started looking at his romantic
future in a whole new light.

“I didn’t think much about settling down until
recently,” he told the mag, explaining how an approaching age milestone
has shifted his priorities.

“Now that I’m getting closer to my 30s, I’m around some great relationships and I’ve seen expert couples at work,” he said. “I’m realizing that you have to find your own happiness before you can make somebody else happy.”

While the 29-year-old takes romance notes from within his social circle, he also shared that one of his biggest voices of reason comes from an even closer source.

“If I’m dating someone, one of the few people I need to weigh in on the situation is my brother,” he told the mag.

Although 25-year-old Dylan didn’t come of age in the Hollywood spotlight like his famous older brother, that’s reportedly one reason Zac trusts his opinion.

“We live together, and we’re different in a lot of ways, but he’s really grounded. He lived a more normal life than I did growing up, so he’s a great barometer for me,” Zac told the mag. “He’ll be like, ‘Are you sure you’re happy? Is this what you really want?’ Having my little brother around is a really great thing.”

Despite his millennial status, the actor also shared a reluctance toward social media, touching upon why he prefers in-person contact over its ever-present digital counterpart.

“I try to stay off my phone as much as possible. It’s on silent and the vibrate is off all day. People sometimes hate me for it!” he admitted. “But I’m just not a pro at DMing and all that. Forget Twitter, forget Instagram. Let’s just chill and be real. Enjoy the moment.”

According to Cosmo, Zac also has an old-school preference when it comes to women’s swimwear – a topic on which he’s had recent personal experience thanks to his work on the upcoming “Baywatch” movie.

“I’d definitely vote for a one-piece over a bikini,” he said, recalling the “iconic” red one-piece made famous on the “Baywatch” TV series back in the ’90s.

“I think it looks awesome! It leaves more to the imagination,” Zac teased. “Sometimes, it’s what you can’t see that’s more intriguing.”
