Zac Efron’s Parkland Co- Star Marcia Gay Harden Talks Working With Actor Prior To His Rehab Stint

Marcia Gay Harden worked with Zac Efron before he went to rehab earlier this year, but says the 25-year-old was a joy to work with and very professional on set.

Marcia and Zac co-star in “Parkland,” which tells the story of Dallas’ Parkland Hospital on the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

“He was definitely together,” the 54-year-old actress, who plays nurse Doris Nelson in the drama, told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live.

“We got along super well. He was prepared,” she said of Zac, who revealed in September that he went to rehab in 2013 after he filmed the ‘60s era drama.

“Anybody who changes their life by addressing their issues, I have down and out respect for them,” she said of Zac, who portrays Dr. Charles “Jim” Carrico. “He’s the nicest person and he’s working to be a serious actor. He’s working it.”

Adding, “He didn’t use his rehab to boost his ratings. He took care of it privately and elegantly. I just love the guy.”

“Parkland” is in theaters now.
