Zach Galifianakis Talks ‘The Hangover 2’ & Shaving His Bountiful Beard

Don’t worry “Hangover” fans – “Fat Jesus” is not going to shave his beard.

The hilarious Zach Galifianakis revealed “Hangover 2” production details and discussed the fate of his famous facial hair with Access Hollywood at the Toronto Film Festival, leaving our crew in stitches as he spoke.

“I’ve never really have been asked to shave [my beard] for a role,” the comedian told Access Hollywood’s guest correspondent, Entertainment Weekly’s Dave Karger, at a junket for his new film, “It’s Kind Of A Funny Story.” “Nobody’s asked me to do that. I mean, when I do shave, I look like a fat Jodie Foster.”

“Underneath this beard, I have a port wine stain in the shape of India… Arie,” he continued, as he struggled to keep a straight face. “Last week I found a small golf pencil in my beard.”

The funnyman told Access that his signature stubble and teddy bear-like physique are part of a master plan to join the roster of Hollywood’s leading men.

“You know how a lot of actors, they start really good-looking, and then they get old and grow a beard and get fat?” Zach asked. “I’m starting with the fat beard thing, and then I’m gonna get thin, and shave it, and then I’m gonna be like a romantic lead. So I’m going in reverse.”

Production on “The Hangover” sequel is set begin in early October, and the comedian said that thanks to the hit movie’s all-star cast, he truly is no longer a “one-man wolf pack.”

“We’re friends now,” Zach laughed. “We all kind of hang out and spend holidays together, so it’s a lot of fun.”

While the “Dinner For Schmucks” star said there will be a few “pretty exciting” new faces joining “The Hangover 2,” he could only reveal one.

“Bruce Vilanch will be playing my partner,” Zach joked.

Zach can next be seen in the comedy “Due Date,” alongside Robert Downey Jr., when it hits theaters on November 5.
