LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Ashley Dupre is calling it quits, withdrawing her $10 million lawsuit against “Girls Gone Wild” head honcho Joe Francis and his film company, People reports.

“Ms. Dupre wants to eliminate all negativity from her life and focus on the positive,” Dupre’s attorney, Richard C. Wolfe, said in a statement to People. “She has prospects for many exciting new projects and is looking forward to starting a new chapter.”

Dupre, the woman at the heart of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s prostitution scandal, had claimed that her name and image had been exploited for profit. The suit also alleged that she’d been duped into exposing herself for “Girls Gone Wild” in 2003, while still a minor.

Last week, Francis told Access Hollywood that Dupre was planning to drop the suit.

“She is [going to be] a no show,” he said, telling Access that a scheduled deposition had been cancelled. “Her lawyer says that she is dropping it and issuing an apology to me.”

At the time, Wolfe refuted the position, telling Access last Tuesday that the deposition was merely delayed.

“The deposition was postponed weeks ago,” the Florida attorney told Access. “I am going on vacation for three weeks and when I return, we will re-set a new date. And if they settle, they settle. And God bless.”
