LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
“High School Musical” star Ashley Tisdale has graduated to a few new solo projects.
Tisdale, who plays the ever-so-proud-of-herself Sharpay Evans in the “HSM” franchise, is in talks to star in a remake of the 1989 movie “Teen Witch,” according to Variety.
She would play Louise Miller, the not-so-popular teen who discovers she’s a descendant of witches with supernatural powers. The role was originally played by Robyn Lively.
The script for the remake has yet to be written.
Tisdale, who will reprise her role as Sharpay in the upcoming “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” is also getting ready to begin filming on “They Came From Upstairs,” a comedy which follows a group of teenagers who must defend their Maine summer home from a group of aliens.
Besides her big screen ventures, Tisdale is also in talks with FremantleMedia North America (the same company which produces “American Idol”) for a new TV project.
No details were available on what type of project may be in the works for the young starlet.
