Ashton & Demi Explain Their Twitter Trouble

TAMPA BAY, Fla. -- Caption Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore attend the UK charity premiere of ‘Flawless’ Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore caused a kerfuffle among the Twitter community last week when they took to the social networking site and video site Qik.com to rant about their noisy neighbor’s construction — and soon after, apologize.

But the star couple told Access Hollywood on Sunday that they didn’t realize what a stir they’d caused.

“We’re big fans of Twitter. We’re addicted,” Demi said. “It was in good humor, [it] wasn’t meant in any way to be mean-spirited.”

“My father was a carpenter,” Ashton added. “My stepfather was a carpenter. I was a carpenter. I understand people start at 7 AM.

“Just not outside my bedroom window,” he joked.

And neither was expecting their online exploits to get so much attention.

“By the time it was done, we were laughing,” Demi said. “We both went to our respective appointments and by the time we each got to where we were going, we couldn’t believe what had happened.”
