LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Warren Beatty’s attorney is slamming claims made in a new book, which alleges the 72-year-old actor has slept with over 12,000 women.
In “Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America,” author Peter Biskind claims that Beatty was sexually involved with “more than 12,000 other women of every possible description.” Cher, Jane Fonda, Joan Collins, Julie Christie, Natalie Wood, Jackie Onassis, Diane Keaton and Madonna are among Beatty’s alleged sexual conquests.
But the actor’s attorney told Access Hollywood these astounding claims are “absolute rubbish.”
“This is not an authorized biography and should not be sold as one. It contains statements that are not accurate,” Beatty’s attorney, Bertram Fields, told Access. “Its absolute rubbish. It quotes Warren as saying things he never said.”
The rep from the book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster, told Access, “Beatty sat for extensive interviews with [author] Biskind, although the book is not authorized in any way.”
“Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced America” contains a slew of other claims including allegations that Beatty didn’t want Faye Dunaway to co-star with him in 1967’s “Bonnie and Clyde” because of her looks. The book goes on to claim that Natalie Wood attempted suicide after Beatty allegedly had an affair with actress Leslie Caron. The racy unauthorized tome also claims that Beatty had some of Jack Nicholson’s seduction scenes with Diane Keaton cut in 1981’s “Reds” because he felt threatened “both personally and professionally.”
