Authorities Release Simon Monjack 911 Call On Day He's Laid To Rest
On the same afternoon of Simon Monjack’s funeral, authorities have released the 911 call made this past Sunday, alerting authorities to the crisis at the home of the husband of the late Brittany Murphy, who was found not breathing.
In a tragic twist, the call was made by Sharon Murphy, Brittany’s mother, who discovered her own daughter collapsed in the shower of her Hollywood Hills home late last year.
During the call, Sharon tells the 911 operator that she is calling on behalf of her relative.

“My son-in-law,” she says. “He stopped breathing.”
During the tense call, the 911 operator then instructs Murphy to listen to him so that he can ask life-saving questions, and give instructions on how to tend to Monjack.
Monjack’s name is not mentioned in the portions of the recording that was made available to the media on Thursday.
“Lay him flat on the ground, no pillows,” the 911 operator instructs.
“I can’t lay him on the ground,” she responds.
After the 911 operator asks her if he is breathing, Murphy says that he isn’t, before suggesting he could be breathing shallowly.
“Why are you taking so long, what do I do?” she screams, a short while later.
The 911 operator then instructs her on how to pump Monjack’s chest until the fire department arrives.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Monjack was found dead Sunday night from what police think was an apparent heart attack. Monjack’s publicist, Roger Neal, told Access that the 39-year-old had a heart condition.
According to Neal, Monjack — a professional photographer by trade — said he was delaying having heart bypass surgery until after a gala benefit he was planning for the Brittany Murphy Foundation that he was setting up to help inner city kids learn about the arts.
Monjack’s funeral took place around 2 PM on Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Burbank, the same place his late wife was buried at last year.
Monjack had a Jewish Orthodox service, which was officiated by Rabbi Baron, Neal told Access. Sharon Murphy spoke at her late son-in-law’s funeral and a recording of “Smile,” performed by the late photographer and his wife, was played at the service.
Monjack will be buried next to his late wife.
