NEW YORK, N.Y. --

When Sandra Bullock stopped by “The Late Show with David Letterman,” the late night host had some fun with the actress, quizzing her about her recent kiss with Meryl Streep – but Sandra ended up having the last laugh.

The talk show host showed the audience a photo of Sandra giving Meryl a deep kiss onstage at the Critics’ Choice Awards last month after they tied for the Best Actress honors for their respective roles in “The Blind Side” and “Julie & Julia.”

“We just gave the audience what they really wanted,” Sandra said on Monday night during her “Late Show” appearance.

“Seriously, what is going on there?” Dave asked. “I guess that’s the kind of thing you people do out in Hollywood, I don’t know!”

“And I suppose you’ve never kissed a woman before, Dave, right?” Sandra said, referring to his admitted affair with a “Late Show” staffer.

Dave and the audience laughed and applauded at Sandra’s jab.

“Yeah, but come on, nothing like this for God’s sake! Are you kidding me? No!” Dave said.

“Women like it when the guy grabs our face and just lays it on!” Sandra explained. “Obviously I was the guy in that picture…I was the man.”

Sandra will meet Meryl for one final awards season duel at 82nd Annual Academy Awards on March 7… no word if they’re planning a sequel to their infamous smooch.
