WASHINGTON, D.C. --

Barbra Streisand is among six entertainers who’ll get Kennedy Center Honors in Washington this December.

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of the Who will also be honored, along with Morgan Freeman, country legend George Jones and choreographer Twyla Tharp.

Friends and colleagues will pay tribute to them at a Kennedy Center gala December 7th.

President Bush will give them their medals the day of the event. The night before, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will host a dinner for the honorees at the State Department.
