Batkid Documentary In The Works, Seeks Funding

Batkid Miles Scott moved a nation as he saved Gotham City late last year, and now, that moment that captured America's attention is being turned into a documentary.

"Batkid Begins" is the story documenting the November day that Miles donned his Batkid suit alongside Batman and helped fight crime in San Francisco, which stood in for Gotham, as put together by Make-a-Wish.

The project is being sponsored by Moving Train, Inc., a non-profit, which funds documentaries.

A trailer for the project was released at Comic-Con, but in order to complete the movie, filmmakers are looking for contributions via Indiegogo.com.

As of press time, the campaign had raised $58K of its $100K goal to fund the film.

The project looks at how Miles' wish prompted tens of thousands (instead of just a few hundred) to come out and line the streets to see the young leukemia survivor defeat the bad guys. Filmmaker Dana Nachman documented the whole event, after reaching out to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

To help the film get completed, people can contribute at indiegogo.com/batkid-begins.
