Betsy Brandt On Why She Couldn't Watch Breaking Bad Shocking Scene
Betsy Brandt has left the kleptomania and purple shag carpet behind to play a different kind of housewife on “The Michael J. Fox Show,” but seeing her former show — “Breaking Bad” — wrap up its run on AMC has been hard.
(SPOILERS AHEAD if you aren’t caught up on “Breaking Bad”!)
It was especially tough for the actress on Sunday night when her TV husband for five seasons — Hank Schrader (played by actor Dean Norris) — was killed in a desert altercation.
“I feel kind of hung over today,” Betsy told Access Hollywood on Monday night at NBC’s fall soiree, in association with Vanity Fair. “I just texted Dean Norris on the way here. I said, ‘I love you so much, thank you for everything.’”
Betsy admitted she actually couldn’t tune in for the scene where Hank was executed in the desert by Uncle Jack.
“I actually couldn’t watch that moment [Sunday] night,” she told Access. “I had to leave the room. I read the script, so I knew what was coming, and I just — I just couldn’t see it.”
That wasn’t the only time Betsy couldn’t watch a scene involving her “Breaking Bad” TV husband when he was in peril.
“That moment in Season 3, when he was shot — I still haven’t seen the scene. I’ve seen the scene, but I can’t watch that moment. … It’s just too hard. It’s too much.”
“Breaking Bad’s” second to last episode airs Sunday at 9/8c on AMC.
