Betty White Joins Twitter, Flirts With Ryan Seacrest

The 90-year-old comedian officially joined Twitter on Tuesday and was an instant hit!

As of Wednesday afternoon, Betty had already gained a whopping 145,000 followers (and counting!) on her first day on the social networking platform.

“Hello Twitter! And they said it would never happen. Oh wait, that was me,” she wrote in her inaugural post on Tuesday. Her second Tweet – in normal Twitter-esque self-promotion – gave a shout out to her new show “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers” that airs on NBC on Wednesday.

The “Hot in Cleveland” star currently follows 41 Twitter-friendly celebs, but which 37-year-old host got the first shout out? Here’s a hint: he tweets to more than 6 million fans.

“Hey @RyanSeacrest - my new show airs tomorrow and I hear we’re in the same time slot. I’ve always dreamed of sharing a night with you…” she posted.

The host, whose last tweet was on April 8,2012, has yet to send his love back via Twitter update.
