LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

NBC’s “Biggest Loser” franchise is expanding.

The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge, a destination resort and spa in Ivins, Utah, has opened for business.

The locale is set up to help guests seeking a weight-loss experience similar to what is shown on the hit NBC show by focusing on exercise, healthy nutrition and education.

Visitors to the ranch are offered a minimum one-week program, but they can stay as long as they like. While they are there, guests experience at least six hours of exercise. Among the exercise options are hiking, swimming, kickboxing, mat Pilates and more.

There is a major focus, however, on education as a means to changing the guests’ lives.

“Becoming the exclusive resort for NBC’s hit reality series is a natural fit,” said Renee Jarvis, Marketing Director for The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge. “Our philosophies are the same in that we offer a unique weight-loss opportunity in a calorie controlled and structured environment with motivation from professional fitness experts.”

And in addition to exercise and education, guests are fed three mails a day, prepared by a trained on-site chef and dietician, totaling 1200 calories.
