LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Jessica Simpson is responding to comments Carrie Underwood made in September’s issue of Allure Magazine, in which the “American Idol” singer stated that ex Tony Romo still calls her.

“The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer,” Carrie told the mag.

In an interview with a Nashville radio station, Tony’s current girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, claimed that Underwood’s comments are false.

“Tony and I both laughed at that,” Simpson said. “We got a chuckle out of it.”

She also insisted that Carrie is not on Tony’s called ID, explaining, “I checked his call log.”

The couple seems to be going strong — at a festival in Wisconsin this past Sunday, Simpson dedicated “You’re My Sunday” to her beau, telling the crowd, “[Romo] is my better tomorrow.”

Simpson also responded to Pamela Anderson, who attacked her in June when Simpson wore a shirt with the slogan “Real Girls Eat Meat.” Anderson, a strong supporter of PETA and animal rights, publicly chastised the country singer.

“I heard about that, but I respect my elders,” Simpson said on the radio. “I won’t speak about that.”
