LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Brad Pitt is taking on the paparazzi — and he’s not afraid to sue.
After photographers snapped photos of Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their family, including newborn twins Knox and Vivienne, on the grounds of their French estate, Pitt has threatened to sue anyone who uses or sells the pictures.
The actor’s attorney, Yael Holtkamp of the Los Angeles law firm Lavely & Singer, said in a letter circulated to various media outlets that legal action will be taken towards any news outlet that publish the images, Access Hollywood has learned.
The letter, which has been posted on TheSmokingGun.com, says the photos of Pitt and his family were snapped “surreptitiously.”
“The taking of the Photos constitutes a malicious violation of Mr. Pitt’s privacy, including under the laws of California and France,” Pitt’s lawyer states in the letter.
The letter goes on to say that one unnamed photo agency has already posted the images on its Web site, but has since taken them down.
Pitt and Jolie are reportedly in talks with various publications for the exclusive first photos of their newborn twins.
