Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul: Why He Called His Fans
As fans of Aaron Paul know, the “Breaking Bad” actor is no stranger to taking calls from his fans, and this past weekend, the actor did it again, calling the first 10 people who gave him their number on Twitter.
And Aaron, who plays Jesse Pinkman on the exiting AMC series, explained why he did it on Sunday night.
“Usually I would just send out a Tweet with the number to a pay phone and I would just stand by the payphone for a half hour or an hour and talk directly to my fans because without them, I wouldn’t have a career or this business would not exist,” Aaron told Access Hollywood at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Performers Peer Group cocktail reception in Los Angeles on Monday. “Doing that, I get to meet really interesting, cool, fun people.”
The calls no doubt delighted fans who are caught up in the drama presented in the second of the final eight “Breaking Bad” episodes.
In the most recent installment of the show, a semi-catatonic Jesse was taken into police custody after he tossed millions out the window of his car. At the conclusion of the episode, Hank (Dean Norris) was gearing up to question him.
Although Aaron avoided revealing any plot details, the actor said fans can expect some great stuff as the show continues its march to its series finale.
“Each season of ‘Breaking Bad’ gets progressively darker and this final season, each episode just gets more and more intense,” he said. “And just hold on because it’s about to get really, really, really crazy.”
“Breaking Bad” airs Sunday nights at 9 PM on AMC.
