LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Are plans already in place for the Twilight mania to continue?

On Monday, TheWrap.com reported that “Breaking Dawn,” the fourth film in the Stephenie Meyer’s teen vampire series has gotten an early green light.

Summit Entertainment rep Paul Pflug refused to confirm the report, however, saying, “Summit has no comment on that rumor at this time,” even though a source had told the industry Web site that “Breaking Dawn” is in the works and production will start in the late spring of 2010.

But according to screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who is currently writing the script for the third movie, “Eclipse,” a fourth Twilight film is not a go – at least, not just yet.

“The most I’ve heard from Summit is ‘re-read it and start thinking about it,’” Melissa told Entertainment Weekly.

Another EW source said author Stephenie Meyer is worried about the fourth novel’s steamy sex scenes and a envelope-pushing birth scene, saying, “As far as I know, Stephenie was still having meetings asking, ‘Can we really make this into a movie?’”

When contacted by EW, a rep for Summit had no comment.

The second Twilight film, “New Moon,” is currently in production in Vancouver and has an expected release date of November 20, 2009. The third film, “Eclipse,” has a tentative release date of June 2010. TheWrap.com speculates that the fourth film, “Breaking Dawn,” will have a release date sometime in 2011.

The films are being produced back-to-back, which is different from many other big franchises such as “Harry Potter.” It is expected that the quick turnaround of the films will effectively fan the flames for the Twi-hard fan base.

“New Moon’s” production is well under way in Vancouver, where the entire cast has been on location filming. The production has been tight-lipped with very tight security, and it is even reported that extras are being required to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Summit recently announced “New Moon’s” full cast-list, including new additions Jamie Campbell-Bower and Daniel Cudmore as Volturi vampires.

In addition, there have been some photographs online that have leaked the first glimpses of potential “New Moon” sets. (For a look at Jacob Black’s potential house and garage, CLICK HERE!)
