The couple reportedly met in 2000, when Melanie was employed as a bartender at a Key West, Fla., restaurant Kelly owned with her second husband, Fred Tillman.
Kelly, whose two previous marriages ended in divorce, revealed she was gay last year, and opened up to Access Hollywood on her reasons for coming out.
“For a long time I hid,” she told Access in July 2009. “I hid from myself, most importantly, and that came at a huge price…. I don’t wanna pay that price today. I can’t be who all these other people in the world expect me to be.”
The 53-year-old actress guest-starred on Showtime’s romantic drama “The L Word” in 2008, and can currently be seen in the vampire horror film, “Stake Land,” which debuted to rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival on Friday.
