Bret Michaels isn’t letting a life-threatening injury stop the rock.
The singer is planning to head back out on tour before the end of May and – he hopes – attend the season finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice” later this month as well, a rep for the star confirmed to Access Hollywood on Friday.
Additionally, Bret is heading to “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” in an episode set to air on May 19, his rep announced.
Bret will make his first concert return on Friday, May 28, in Biloxi, Miss., at the Hard Rock Live, his rep revealed.
The singer’s rep said in a statement that Bret has “increased his rehabilitation sessions to twice a day to prepare for his comeback.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Bret suffered a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage 20 days after having an emergency appendectomy.
The first surgery took Bret off his “Custom Built Tour.” Beyond Bret’s continuation of his solo tour, the rocker will also head out on the road with Lynyrd Skynyrd, beginning June 10 in Palm Beach, Fla. at the Cruzan Amphitheater.
“We have been overwhelmed with well wishes and offers that continue to pour in for Bret. And promoters have really stepped up to the plate to reschedule dates he missed. Which is a testament to Bret’s great live performances and friendships he has built over the years,” Brian Ahern of the William Morris Endeavor Agency said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
“Apprentice” boss Donald Trump told Access earlier this week that Bret is doing well and is eager to come back to the NBC reality show for the season finale.
“What he’s done is amazing,” Donald told Access earlier this week. “He had, essentially, an explosion in his brain and he’s really doing better. He’s having a little bit of a difficult time, but he’s really doing better.”
