“A source close to the family” has confirmed exclusively to Access Hollywood that Britney Spears is five months pregnant.
Just 7 months ago, Britney and Kevin welcomed young Sean Preston into the world. Now, it appears the couple is ready to welcome their second child.
No other details were immediately available.
Britney, 24, and Kevin, 28, were married in September 2004 and one year later, Britney gave birth to her first child.
Kevin has a daughter Kori, 3, and a 21-month-old son Caleb from his previous relationship with Shar Jackson.
Earlier this month, Sean Preston fell from his highchair while in the care of his nanny, and Britney and Kevin brought him to the hospital for examination. However, reports of a fractured skull and blood clot were false.
After the hospital visit, child welfare officials visited Spears’ home accompanied by a sheriff’s deputy.
“The Department of Children and Family Services called us on Saturday (April 8) and asked us to accompany them to the home of Mrs. Spears for their visit,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Lt. Debra Glafkides said. “It’s very routine and common for us to accompany them.”
According to Glafkides, the visit lasted about half an hour and no police report was filed.
In response to the incident, Britney’s attorney Marty Singer released the following statement to Access Hollywood:
“While there was an automatic report by the hospital to the Department of Children and Family Services, DCFS immediately responded and determined there was no problem and no reason to open a formal investigation. They determined that the parents were not involved in any injury and that nothing improper was done within the home.”
In February, Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos spoke with Britney in New Orleans, as the pop princess traveled back to her home state to celebrate Mardi Gras.
Maria asked Britney what made this year’s event different from all the rest, in light of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina just six months ago.
“Tell me why you thought it was important to be here,” Maria asked.
“I think it’s just important for New Orleans because they’re such a soulful city, that for them to keep the traditions going as much as possible now, they need this ? the spirit of it,” the Louisiana native told Maria.
