Michael Jackson’s Children, Backing Singers Perform ‘We Are The World’

Michael Jackson’s backing singers and dancers from what were to be his upcoming concerts in London took the stage at his Staples Center memorial for a stirring rendition of “We Are The World,” the late King of Pop’s charity anthem on Tuesday.

By the age of 16, Brooke Shields was already one of the most recognizable faces in the world. She was a fashion model superstar who earned megabucks for brands like Calvin Klein and Breck shampoo. She was also a mega-star on the big screen who seemed to gravitate towards sexually controversial movies like “Pretty Baby,” in which she portrayed a child prostitute, and “Blue Lagoon,” with its beautifully shot nude scenes.

At the height of her career she took the time to return to school and earn her degree from Princeton. Unfortunately, her career foundered for a number of years after college as she appeared in a string of forgettable movies and television projects. Then, after almost ten years of backwater roles, she landed the title lead on the hit sitcom, “Suddenly Susan.” In 2008, she took on a lead role in NBC's "Sex and The City" sequel, "Lipstick Jungle." Since then she’s kept busy as a leading actress, and is one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons.
