Bruno Tonioli: Did 'DWTS' Pass On Juan Pablo?

Bruno Tonioli chats with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Access Hollywood Live about when he found out “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Brooke Burke-Charvet was being replaced with Erin Andrews. Plus, why is Bruno “over” “Bachelor” Juan Pablo Galavis, who was passed over for this season of “Dancing”? Season 18 of “Dancing with the Stars” premieres March 17 at 8/7c on ABC.

When did you find out? I found out two weeks ago on the internet and then obviously I e-med her immediately because she's a wonderful lady. Actually I'm going to call her today. She's a friend. She did a fantastic job and, you know, I had no idea. It has nothing to do with me. I'm sure Erin will be great. She's led a movie role. She did seven seasons. I call that giant run. Fantastic. In Hollywood seven seasons of anything. I have to pinch myself that I'm still going. It is a blessing lasting this long. Did you want Juan Pablo? Was he signed on to do it? I couldn't care less. I'm over him. Come on. The guy can't make up his mind. Just do it, I'm not doing it. No, I like her, whatever. Make up your mind and move on. We have plenty -- He's Venezuelan. He may have the Latin dance moves. Wait, he's a villain, though. Don't shows lakelike a villain? I think our cast is good. It's been overexposed of late. It's time to move on. It's time to move on. A as you said, the guy who is the next bachelor after Juan Pablo, easy. He's so nice. Do you know him? We don't. The bachelorette is next. Seriously, Brooke and Erin, the reason given that maybe they would attract more young, male viewers to "Dancing with the stars" with Erin. I don't think you could attract young, male vaurs to "Dancing with the stars" unless they're all naked. Including you. Right? You mean naked with the stars. Buck naked. Naked, buck naked with the stars. Get Lindsay lohan to do it. That's probably something that could work. Buck naked with the stars. I think she will be good. She's done the show. She knows -- she was a competitor. She came in third. She knows what the show is like, and I'm sure she's going to do a good job. It really wasn't -- to be honest, I know nothing about it, but I love Brooke. She's a wonderful lady and she's a good friend. Has there ever been a discussion to replace the judges? You have been there. Wendy Williams is saying -- Wendy wants my job. But that's okay. A shake-up on the judging panel. She tonight -- She says all new judges. I'm happy to do her show if she's going to do mine. Syndicated talk show. I'm very happy to switch. Speaking of switch, there's a switchup this season. Do we know how that will work? I'm excited. It really is. I don't know when it will happen but the public will decide who is going to dance -- going to change, switch partners. Just for one week. It could. We don't know exactly. I'm not allowed to tell you when and how. When it happens -- when it happens, they will switch partners which will change the whole dynamics of the show. Obviously it takes a while, you know, to build a relationship with your partner. And it is almost like starting again, you know, halfway through the show. Kind of fun. It is fun and it's going to be very, very interesting because it gives you a completely different dynamic. People could do better. People could do worse. And fights. Disagreements. It's going to be the public who will decide who is going to switch to whom. We're voting on this, Billy. It's like switching the car keys in the bowl. Now speaking -- No, no. Bruno, come back in a few weeks. We'll get an update. Do not come at the end -- in a few weeks we want you back. You have to do it.
