LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Bryan Singer is returning to the X-Men fold.
The director, who helmed the first two X-Men feature films (2000’s “X-Men” and 2003’s “X2”), will direct the next big screen installment, “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” according to Deadline.
Matthew Vaughn was initially set to direct the superhero movie, but is now in talks to produce the film instead, according to the website.
Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy, who starred in the most recent movie, “X-Men: First Class,” will return for the upcoming film, which is set to begin production early next year.
“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is slated for theatrical release on July 18, 2014.
