Casting Call: Alba To Babysit New 'Spy Kids' Film
Jessica Alba is setting out on a new “Spy” mission.
The big screen bombshell will star in “Spy Kids 4: All The Time in the World,” Access Hollywood has confirmed.
The latest installment in the Robert Rodriguez-helmed franchise takes a different approach, now that the original child stars – Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara – are now in their 20s.
Instead, the new film – which will once again be shot in 3-D — will focus on real-life mom Alba, whose spy character comes out of retirement to oversee two new spy tweens – her on-screen stepchildren.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported Alba was in talks for the part, both Vega and Sabara are expected to appear in supporting roles, along with original “Spy Kids” parents Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino.
The movie marks the third time Alba has teamed up with Rodriguez, after working together on “Sin City” and the upcoming “Machete,” which hits theaters on September 3.
In addition to her turn in “Machete,” Alba will next be seen on the big screen in the comedy “Little Fockers,” starring Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Robert De Niro. The “Meet The Parents” franchise follow-up is set for a December 2010 release.
