LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Elizabeth Banks makes the leap from a “Virgin” to the President. Julie Benz is ready to play a deadly new game. Plus, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel get some star support on Capitol Hill. It’s all in the latest edition of the Access Hollywood Casting Call!
Elizabeth Banks is headed to the White House, as the actress is in final talks to play first lady Laura Bush in “W” in Oliver Stone’s presidential biopic, per The Hollywood Reporter.
Josh Brolin has already signed on to play George W. Bush in the film, which is scheduled to begin filming in April in Louisiana.
Banks will soon be seen in the comedy “Meet Dave,” opposite Eddie Murphy, and the Kevin Smith-directed “Zack and Miri Make A Porno,” alongside Seth Rogen.
Her other film credits include “Spider-Man 3,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” and “Seabiscuit.”
Julie Benz clearly has a thing for serial killers.
Benz (who stars as Rita on the TV slasher series “Dexter”) will star in “Saw V,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
The actress will play a prim and proper Brit who becomes a pawn in Jigsaw’s (Tobin Bell) maniacal games.
Benz most recently appeared with Sylvester Stallone in “Rambo.”
James Marsden, Tracy Morgan and Catherine Keener are lining up to get “Nailed,” reports Variety.
The trio would join Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel in the comedy, co-written by Al Gore’s daughter Kristin.
Marsden is in talks to play the boyfriend of Biel’s character – a small-town waitress who gets a nail shot into her head, causing erratic and outrageous behavior. When she heads to Washington to fight for better health care, she winds up falling for a equally naïve congressman (Gyllenhaal) who tries to summon the political courage to save her.
Meanwhile, Keener will play a Congresswoman with her own agenda, while details of Morgan’s character are still unclear.
Milla Jovovich and Kiele Sanchez will join Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant in the thriller “A Perfect Getaway,” per The Hollywood Reporter.
The film follows a newlywed couple honeymooning in Hawaii who run into two hikers who turn out to be vicious killers.
Jovovich will play Zahn's new wife, while Sanchez will play Olyphant's companion.
Filming is scheduled to begin next week in Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
Sanchez, who many know as Nikki from ABC’s “Lost,” recently wrapped production on another thriller, “Insanitarium,” alongside Jesse Metcalfe.
Jovovich recently reprised her role as Alice in “Resident Evil: Extinction.”
