LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

As she gets ready for a return to the big screen, Jennifer Lopez is hoping to steal more than just the audience’s heart.

Lopez has signed on to star in “The Governess,” a romantic comedy about a woman (Lopez) who poses as a nanny to pull off a major bank heist.

In the film, Lopez takes a job as the nanny of three unruly kids who belong to a wealthy widower. But when she starts to fall for the kids – and their father – she must choose between her life of crime and a chance to start over.

“The Governess” was written by Kevin Wade, who also wrote J.Lo’s “Maid in Manhattan.”

Shooting is scheduled to begin in the fall in Massachusetts.

Lopez is currently in pre-production on the indie romantic comedy, “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits.”

Her last big screen role came opposite husband Marc Anthony in the 2006 film “El Cantante.”

Lopez’s other recent film credits include “Monster-In-Law,” “Jersey Girl” and “Shall We Dance?”
