LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Katie Holmes may soon be going up the hill with a double dose of Adam Sandler.

The actress is in early talks to star alongside the funny man in “Jack and Jill” for Columbia Pictures, the studio confirmed to Access Hollywood.

The romantic comedy – set for release in November 2011 — follows a family man, Jack, who is forced to deal with his twin sister, Jill, when she visits for Thanksgiving – and won’t leave.

Sandler would play both the Jack and Jill roles, with Holmes in talks to play his on-screen wife.

Al Pacino will also star in the film, as himself.

Dennis Dugan, who has worked with Sandler on “Grown Ups,” “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,” “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry,” “Big Daddy” and “Happy Gilmore,” will direct.

Holmes was last seen on the big screen in the indie “The Extra Man,” which hit theaters earlier this year.

She has two projects wrapped and awaiting release – “The Romantics,” an ensemble cast dramedy with Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel and more, set for release later this year; as well as the Guillermo del Toro-produced thriller “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark,” which will hit theaters in January 2011.

Production on “Jack and Jill” is slated to begin in September.
