The former “Friends” star has landed a recurring role on CBS’ hit series “The Good Wife,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 42-year-old actor will play an “ultra-charming” Chicago attorney who’s “heading up a blue-ribbon panel in charge of investigating a police shooting,” EW reports.

“No one skates as effortlessly between drama and comedy as Matthew Perry, so we’re especially thrilled to have him on the show,” “The Good Wife” creators/executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. “We’re huge, huge fans, and are nearly giddy over what he can do with the role.”

While Matthew has reportedly signed on for a recurring role, the number of episodes he’ll appear in is not yet known.

The legal drama move marks Matthew’s most substantial small screen role since starring in “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” from 2006 – 2007. He was most recently seen ABC’s short-lived sitcom, “Mr. Sunshine.”

Matthew will make his debut – alongside Julianna Margulies and Josh Charles — on “The Good Wife” on March 25.
