Casting Call: Sean Bean Joins 'Snow White'
Sean Bean has landed another gig fresh off his untimely death on HBO’s hot new fantasy/adventure series, “Game of Thrones.”
The British actor, 52, has been cast as the king — aka Snow White’s father — in Relativity Media’s as-of-yet untitled “Snow White” film, the studio confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The fairytale re-imagining, which is currently shooting in Montreal, also stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, “The Social Network’s” Armie Hammer as the charming Prince Andrew Alcott and Lily Collins (of “Priest” and “The Blind Side” fame) as the fair-complexioned heroine.
Additionally, Bean will also be seen in yet another fairytale re-telling – the actor will play the role of Smee in “Pan,” a twist on the classic Peter Pan story, alongside Anna-Sophia Robb and Aaron Eckhart.
Relativity Media’s “Snow White” film is slated for theatrical release on March 16, 2012.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the story of Snow White will engage in a box office battle as Universal plans to release another version of the fairytale, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” on December 21, 2012.
With British director Rupert Sanders at the helm, “Huntsman” will star “Twilight” beauty Kristen Stewart as Snow White and Charlize Theron as the evil Queen.
