LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
“Gossip Girl” cutie Chace Crawford is hanging in there following his breakup with superstar singer Carrie Underwood.
Chace’s younger sister, Candice, revealed to People that although the split was tough, the actor is managing.
“He’s doing OK through this whole ordeal,” Candice said. “He was upset about the breakup. It’s always hard when you lose a relationship.”
News that Chace, who plays upper East Side popular high schooler Nate Archibald on the CW show, had split with former “American Idol” winner Carrie, emerged last week.
His sister, Candice, who has her own claim to fame as Miss Missouri 2008, said the family still adores Chace’s former paramour.
“Chace will get through it,” she told People. “We love Carrie, too. They’re dolls and they’ll both do well.”
As the reigning Miss Missouri, Candice will compete for the Miss USA Pageant live from Las Vegas and broadcast on NBC next week.
“The whole family will be there rooting for me,” she said. “My mom made T-shirts and little pins for everyone.”
