LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Hold on to your tights — Channing Tatum may be heading to Never Never Land.
The 30–year-old actor is reportedly attached to star in an upcoming film that will delve into the origins of childhood hero Peter Pan, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The former “Dear John” star reportedly created the idea, along with his producing partner, Reid Carolin, and brought it to Ray, Roth and Roth Films where the pair successfully convinced screenwriter Billy Ray and “Alice in Wonderland” producer Joe Roth to sign on.
Ray and Roth reportedly began pitching the proposed film to studios on Tuesday.
The Peter Pan prequel won’t be Roth’s first foray into the colorful land of fairytales — in addition to producing 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland” starring Johnny Depp, he is now at the helm of the upcoming “Oz: The Great and Powerful,” reportedly with James Franco and Mila Kunis attached, as well as “Snow White and the Huntsman,” starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.
Channing Tatum recently starred in “The Eagle,” The Dilemma” and “Dear John,” and has multiple projects in the pipeline, including, “Haywire” and “The Son of No One.”
A rep for Channing was not immediately available for comment on the project when contacted by AccessHollywood.com on Wednesday.
