L’AQUILA, Italy

George Clooney has toured the ruins of Italy’s recent earthquake and told the survivors he’ll shoot a film in their mountain region.

The actor inspected crumbled buildings during a visit on the sidelines of the G-8 summit in L’Aquila. The April 6 quake left thousands homeless and killed nearly 300 people.

The curtain is slowly rising on Michael Jackson’s last show.

As in Jackson’s life, Tuesday’s public memorial at the downtown Staples Center includes the spectacle surrounding the show — legal drama, screaming fans, star power, live worldwide broadcast, unsavory accusations, even a parade of elephants — all adding up to what could be the biggest celebrity send-off of all time.

LA Officials Scramble To Host Horde Of Michael Jackson Fans At Tuesday Memorial

Los Angeles, Calif.

City officials are scrambling over the holiday weekend to try to figure out how to accommodate a public memorial service for Michael Jackson at a venue that can hold no more than 20,000 people. The event will take place 10 AM Tuesday at the downtown Staples Center.

Randy Phillips, chief executive of AEG Live, which owns the Staples Center and was Jackson’s promoter, said tickets would be free. He was not sure how they would be distributed. A press conference to announce further details was planned for Friday.

Michael Jackson’s will, reportedly drafted in 2002, is said to divide his assets between his mother, three children and one or more charities.

According to The Wall Street Journal, several sources close with the pop star said a lawyer for Jackson could submit the will – which is thought to be his last – to Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday.
